This Thursday we are presenting our bargaining response to the School Board. We are partnering with CSEA to host a pizza get together at 5. Time of the presentation depends in part on public comments, but hopefully it will occur around 6:30. We know there are schools with an open house but for those who can make it please be there. We believe the Board has reason to settle sooner rather than later so a show of force by our presence at this meeting would help move things a

Wishing everyone a wonderful and restorative Spring Break. We still have not heard any details about the screen time (chromebook usage) task force the School Board asked the Superintendent to arrange at last week's meeting. However, since the Board expressed urgency and experience suggests that this will be a "wait....wait....wait....we need it tomorrow" situation, there is an FCEA google form in the school board section where you can sign up if you are interested in partic

Look for the link to the school board report. This week, instead of a president's report, two kindergarten spoke on behalf of their colleagues about the challenges our students are experiencing since the district switched to all-day K. Turns out 6 1/2 hours of school is not developmentally appropriate resulting in exhaustion, behavioral issues and burn out....in kindergarten. Remember to look for the home email from simplyvoting ; FCEA Exec Board elections run through Marc

How do our benefits compare with our neighbors?
Delta Dental and VSP are largely universal, so we focused on health care. Tony Ruiz, 9 - 12 DAL, who has been representing FCEA at the Employee Benefits Committee for 12+ years was drafted to help investigate our neighbor’s benefits booklets and compile the data below.
