School Board Report: Nov. 20, 2025

• [1:15] IVd  Recognition of the California Sikh American Awareness and Appreciation Month presented by the FMS Equity leader. Learn more about the history and philosophy of the Sikh community and meet a few of your colleagues too.  [ppt] 

• [1:20] IVe  Secondary Spotlight:  Adult Education.   Take a couple of minutes to celebrate this school whose focus is “Bringing living-wage jobs to Folsom and Rancho Cordova residents”.  Their ELD program has 560 students enrolled with a waiting list. There are 134 students in their HS diploma or equivalency class - with a waiting list.  And there are currently 200 students in CTE courses - with a waiting list.  Kudos to a strong support program that serves our communities.[ppt] 

• VII  As part of Agenda Consent (i) two job descriptions (School Psychologist Lead and Speech Language Pathologist Lead were approved along with an updated Certificated Employee Salary Schedule Key; and (k) an MOU for General Education Intern Mentors was also approved. 

• [1:38] VIII  Presentation:  Building Pathway, Building Futures:  Alternative education Reimagined.  This powerpoint highlights the work being done to plan for the unique opportunity to create the new, small high school on Prospect Drive.  The presentation celebrates our current programs as well as providing an overview of the work begun last spring to re-design how we would like to best serve students who would benefit from a smaller school or non-traditional routes through high school that better meet their needs.
