Bargaining Report from August 21, 2024

  • BENEFITS - TDS (Tax Deferred Services) is being replaced by Schools Federal Credit Union on January 1st, 2025.  TDS was your home for all your 403b/457 needs. If you are currently happy with your 403b/457 deductions as is, you do not need to do anything.  Changes in the new year will be made with Schools FCU. You can still make changes through TDS until December 31st, 2024. More info to follow from Schools FCU in the next month or two.  All in all, Schools FCU should be an upgrade in not only customer service, but also in services and rates.

  • We didn’t talk much about Nonstop today, just be aware that your Nonstop credit cards activate on September 1st.  Be sure to use them for medical and pharmacy services only. $5,500/singles and $11,000/family.  THIS YEAR ONLY - PLEASE BE AWARE - your Nonstop card is good until December 31st, 2024.  Meaning…you have $5,500/$11,000 for the next FOUR months.  On January 1st, 2025 the card resets back to $5,500/$11,000.

  • Intervention/MTSS:  Pending approval by the  FCUSD School Board in September, the current intervention teachers that are funded by FCUSD (not the site) will now have a new job title, “MTSS Specialist”. Individuals in this situation have already been notified; they will have some minor adjustments to their position, but most of their duties will remain the same.

  • Great news regarding the FCUSD Special Education Teacher Intern Program; out of 52 resident teachers, pre-intern teachers, and intern teachers last year, 90% returned this year!

    • Thank you to our Teacher Interns and Induction Teachers for helping us to fill vacant special education positions. We couldn’t do it without you!

    • Want to know the difference between Teacher Resident/ Intern and Induction?
