[15:11] VII Agenda Consent
Two items were pulled
Item f. Speakers shared concerns about the course outlines for Jazz Band A-C, in particular asking for clarification about whether the audition for the C Band was a screener used to place students into the correct program level. The board tentatively approved the course outlines but have asked for the band course outlines to be reviewed and clarified at the next secondary CAC meeting in May.
Item i. The “Fiscal Data Analyst II” was pulled for further work with CSEA and the “Director of Connectedness and Well-Being” had a small change in working to note before approval

[49:00] IX. Public Comment - we don’t normally report out on public comment but one speaker was a freshman at FHS who was bringing to the board a climate resolution in support of proactive climate education in the district. The student has taken the initiative to create a curriculum in partnership with the City of Folsom and presented at some elementary schools. Based on the student response, there is a petition in support of this resolution on change.org already gathering signatures from students, families and teachers.
[37:13] VIIIa1 Celebrated Student Athlete Accomplishments - Presentation moved up in the agenda for the students present. Winter Sports Kudos to the Coaches and athletes recognized from the high schools and in particular FMS
[1:06:13] X. CSEA - our CSEA friends will be honored May 18-22 during Classified School Employees Week. FCUSD is one of 10 districts selected to participate in an activity where a manager walks in a classified member’s shoes for a couple of hours this week. 40 managers and supervisors have signed up and Rob Corn, CSEA President, let the Board know that their invitations to participate would be coming soon.
[1:08:37] X. FCEA. President Jeannette Sansenbach shared a tough speech that expressed her concerns about the inadequate offer from the district that we replied to yesterday at the table. Please take the time to watch and join us at the May 7th Board Meeting where we will be sharing that response in detail.
Note there was an extended section on bond refinancing. Please see your District Digest update from Friday April 17th if you are interested in a full summary.
