Hello Everyone,

On Monday, the feasibility report came out. Schools Services of California determined that it was NOT feasible for the district to split. There were nine criteria to be met, and three were not: #4 Discrimination/Segregation, #6 Sound Educational Program, and #9 Effect on Fiscal Status and Management. However, the City Council of Rancho Cordova appears to be continuing the process. The next steps would be to determine who is the lead on this process, both the City Council of Folsom and the FCUSD both made it clear that they would not be leading this process. It was expressed by many board members, especially David Reed, that we need to keep our focus on the students, keep streaming more resources in RC to bridge the gap that was very apparent throughout the presentation. In the last few years, it has been made known that this Board is well aware of the need. One fact that I didn’t know that Sean Martin pointed out is that the students of Rancho receive 3000 dollars more per student currently, so the students that generate the money are receiving it well. Hopefully, they the implementation of Supplement Dollars going directly to the site, along with Community School funding, we will all start seeing positive strides in Rancho Cordova. Another noteworthy fact, is that other school with the same demographics don’t do as well as our schools. I would like to think that is because of the hard work the teachers and students put forth everyday. Thank you for the hard work you do.
