Board Meeting Report: January 23, 2025

Here are the links to the agenda and YouTube video of the meeting.

Below is the time stamp from the video with highlights of three (3) presentations likely to be of interest to our members.

6:30  Recognition of Fall Sports achievements from FMS, SMS, CHS, FHS and Vista.  Look for lots of pictures in the district wrap up.  Wonderful to celebrate the individual student and team achievements as well as show appreciation for the coaches, families, schools and district that all contribute to offering a robust athletic program.

25:00  2024 Carlston Outstanding Teachers of America Award Recipient:  Leanne Linares from Cordova H.S.  To be recognized by this program a former student has to first nominate their teacher and explain how the teacher made a difference in their life.  The program then takes a deep dive talking to other former students as well as administrators.  Congratulations to Leanne for being recognized for her work and support for her students.

45:30  Kim Walker and Ann Botsford introduced the programs offered at Innovations Academy (Elementary and HS virtual education) and Walnutwood( traditional independent studies, adolescent parent program, and home hospital program).  Hear the students who came to share what makes their schools special and life changing for them.
