Below is the time stamp from the video with events relevant to our members.
[1:08] At President Chris Clark’s request, each board meeting features a part of our diverse FCUSD community. This meeting featured a presentation created by our equity leads under the directions of Dr. Pease to recognize Arab American Heritage Month. The lesson and others can be found at the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Educational Equity webpage (scroll down on the right)

[1:31] Celebration of Winter Sports - congratulations to our athletes, coaches, and families
[1:46] Middle School Math - thank you to members Shawn Kivley and Chris Stankeiwicz for sharing the background and goals that led to upcoming changes. Board Member Lofthouse nicely summarized the changes in her comments: this would be grouping students by mathematical ability rather than grade in school. There was significant public comment on this issue.
[3:03] As part of her FCEA president's speech, Jeannette shared information about CTA’s push to get renewing prop 55 on the 2026 ballot. Originally known as prop 30 this has brought millions of dollars into education. Improvements and corrections as to who paid the additional taxes was made with prop 55. Prop 55 ends in 2030; because this is such an essential part of funding education (approx. 14% of LCFF funding) CTA is getting ahead of things now. Last month, FCEA rep council approved a resolution form FCEA in support. Jeannette asked the board to also issue a resolution of support. President Chris Clark shared that CSBA was also behind these efforts and the board directed staff to draft a resolution to bring back to a future board meeting.
[3:25] (note) this is not a presentation but the board did vote to complete the closure of Folsom Lake HS in the spring of 2026. This year the site only has juniors and seniors, next year will serve seniors prior to ending the program.
[3:27] After some procedural moves, the board approved an increase in developer fees. See XIb for the details.
[3:34] SRO contracts are up again for renewal. Currently we are looking at keeping the same number of SRO’s - contract amounts will increase due to the two LEO agencies settling their contracts. Discussion amongst the board about improvements made in the SRO process this past year and clarifying remaining concerns. A PDF of the contracts are on the district agenda.
[4:12] The school board had asked for some pared down plans for new elementary builds that would save costs, “value engineered designs”. In item XIVb, there were designs and estimated costs for a pared down Alder Creek. Truthfully, savings will be offset by escalating future costs but the ppt does show the options and includes design features. These plans would apply to future builds - the next up would open in 2028.
