Here are the links to the agenda and the YouTube video of the meeting. Times noted are time stamps from the video. All of the powerpoints can be found in the agenda.
[1:07] VII. Celebrating the Appreciating Classified Employees (ACE) Program: FCUSD was 1 of 10 chapters selected by the state organization to participate in what is locally called Classified School Employees Week (CSEW) from May 17-23. Organized by Joakima Gregg and Veronica Lane 43 management/administrators paired with classified folk job shadow for part of the day. Classified employees cited this as a highlight of this year. CSEA President Rob Corn presented a plaque to the district to thank them for their participation and thanked Dave Byrd for his enthusiastic support of the programs. Watch the ppt/video to see the slide show from the event. Superintendent Swanson and President Corn are working to make this an annual event in the future. [ppt]
VIII. Agenda Consent: Items approved included 2026-27 Tentative Budget, Elementary and Secondary Bell Schedules, Curricular Offerings and Textbook Guide, LCAP Plans, one last MOU with FCEA and several Board Policy updates. Under Job Descriptions and Salary Schedules Appendix D from our CBA was pulled due to miscommunication that left out updated language in D2. The full CBA document with that language will be available in the Fall and Appendix D will go to the board in August.
[1:13] Following agenda consent, a new AP at Cordova High School was announced: DJ Zwicker-Sobrebena. Congratulations to DJ, and to CHS students and staff.
[1:54] X. Jeannette’s FCEA Report: Still waiting for the Governor to sign the final budget. The new 14 week paid pregnancy leave still has several unknown at this time for example is it concurrent with other leaves or baby bonding. What is known is that it applies to both CSEA and FCEA members. Jeannette has requested that district leadership meet with all union partners when more details become available to issue coordinated communication of what we do and don’t know and how the district plans to roll out additional information as it becomes available.
[2:01] XIa. Measure G update: See the ppt and presentation for review of projects from the past several years and pending projects in Folsom, north of 50. Includes funding updates. [ppt]
[ 2:22] XIb. 2026 CA Dashboard of Local Indicator/Self Reflection. This is a report as to FCUSD’s level of achievement of the LCAP goals. [ppt]
[2:40] XIIc-d. 2026-27 Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Plan: Annual requirement to document planned expenditures of funds received for specific categorical requirements as defined in CALPADS.
[2:42] XIIe. This strangely titled item was a report from the surveys done in preparation of considering the district going out for a new bond. Good news - our community has increased its trust in the district, bad news - support for passing a bond measure was within the margin of error due to national economic concerns such as gas prices and gas which suggests now is not the right time to go out for a bond. Slide 11 recaps the Measure M SFID #3 committee recommendations with the new build goals/dates recap on the right. [ppt]
XIII. Facilities Project Updates: most of this was covered in two previous items XIa and XIIe. Board Agenda summarizes current facilities work.
