Bargaining update for August 30, 2023

Good news: Effective until July 1, 2025 administrators will focus teacher evaluations on temporary, probationary and 1st year permanent teachers while a subcommittee works on updating our teacher evaluation process and contract language. A reminder, Principals can do walk throughs of your room whenever they wish it is part of their job. A copy of the side letter will be posted to the website by the end of next week.

The news you probably care about more: COMPENSATION. The district offered a guaranteed increase of 2% then additional increases contingent on increased district enrollment and attendance. The Bargaining Team appreciates receiving a written offer but does not see the 2% as a viable starting point and has reservations about tying teacher pay to items out of our control. If you have questions or a lot to share with us, please come to the social at Fort Rock on Sept. 6th, RSVP, and share with the Board by showing up at the board meeting on Sept 7th 6 pm - wear red.
